EBS

EBS Effective Behaviour Systems is a focus at Taitoko at this point. We feel we are winning at the moment with the emphasis on Rewards. Children are trying hard to fill their Bronze chart with SHINE stamps to get their photos up on our SHINE BOARD.

SHINE represents S Show Respect H Have a Go I Inspire N Nurture and E Expect the best. SHINE will be used as our Inquiry word also. Paula will share more of this once we are under way.

Hi once again our journey at Taitoko school has begun. I am currently teaching year 7 and 8. The students are now talking about setting up their own blog. They are very excited about the prospect of being able to share their learning with others. Small steps forward for inquiry learning. I look forward to the journey with them. You will be hearing more from us in the future.

Hi well EBS has been the major focus for this term. We are now starting to implement EBS in our school. One of our major goals is to develop a school wide award system and ethos around teaching behaviours rather than managing behaviour. I feel this links with inquiry as rather than teaching knowledge we will be helping children to process and develop skills that will further their understanding of a particular question or concept
