We are finally Blogging!!!
Here at Taitoko we are finally able to begin blogging our journey. We are well into Inquiry Learning and now we are ready to document and share. Yippee!
We are starting our school’s journey into inquiry and I have found the readings from the inquiring mind website to be very informative. It has given me a much greater understanding of the process of inquiry and benefit of it for our children. I believe that as we progress through our journey our children will develop the ability to ask questions and will earn how to answer them. The children at our school will have new horizons opened up to them as they explore the world around them.
At our staff meeting I found it informative and well organised. I appreciated seeing the examples from other schools and how they monitor their progress. I am keen to trial this and look forward to using Taitoko’s SHINE model. The sparking phase has been difficult as the children in our school have very limited experiences and knowledge of the world. I can see that at the junior level we will be using guided inquiry and see that this is likely to be used through out our school as we are new to inquiry. Anna McKenna Year 2 teacher 2008
